Blue Spark Technologies Opens Cleveland-Area HQ Facility Powered by ‘Innovation’ Funding from Ohio Department of Development

Ohio Lt. Governor and Westlake City Council President Will Speak at Nov. 24th Grand Opening Showcasing State-of-the-Art Development and Testing Facility for Blue Spark’s Thin, Flexible, Eco-Friendly Printed Batteries

— November 19, 2008 — Blue Spark Technologies, the leading supplier of thin, flexible printed battery solutions, announces the Grand Opening dedication of its new world headquarters facility in Westlake, Ohio on Monday, November 24th. Ohio Lt. Governor Lee Fisher and Michael Killeen, President of the Westlake City Council, will speak at the event, which will showcase the growing company’s leading-edge technology. Blue Spark’s printed battery solutions are being implemented in innovative markets such as battery assisted RFID, ‘smart cards’, novelty items such as musical greeting cards, and pharmaceutical applications such as patches for drug delivery.

This new headquarters facility as well as the company’s recent investment in state-of-the-art production equipment were made possible by an $800,000-plus Innovation Ohio Fund Loan awarded by the Ohio Department of Development, directed by Lt. Governor Fisher. The Department of Development provides direct financial assistance to businesses – from small entrepreneurial firms to large corporations – with a goal of creating and expanding jobs and economic development in Ohio.

Grand Opening to Feature Networking for Customers, Partners and Investors

The Grand Opening dedication event is set for Monday, November 24th at 9:30 at 806 Sharon Drive, Suite G, Westlake, OH 44145.

Joining Lt. Gov Fisher and Westlake City Council President Killeen will be Blue Spark’s executive management team who will play host to an array of business and technology partners, investors and invited guests. Over the past few months, Blue Spark has been investing in the development of its new facility, which now includes offices and ample lab space to accommodate its thin, flexible battery design and development, prototyping, assembly and testing.
